Prime Minister Meets Business Community: Awakening the Aspiration to Reach Further
(vasep.com.vn) On the afternoon of October 9, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to meet with representatives of the business community on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13).
For the first time in history, the number of active enterprises in Vietnam has surpassed one million. On this milestone, the Prime Minister outlined five aspirations and called on Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs to promote the spirit of “Three Pioneering Roles”, to explore new development frontiers — to “sail far into the oceans, go deep into the earth, and soar high into space”, contributing to building a prosperous, innovative, and sustainable nation.
Amidst complex and unpredictable regional and global developments, the Prime Minister urged businesses and entrepreneurs to continue accompanying the country and the nation in overcoming challenges, fostering rapid and sustainable growth.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to stand side by side with the business community, guided by the principles of being constructive, transparent, action-oriented, and serving the people — including enterprises and entrepreneurs.
He also emphasized the importance of solidarity — among entrepreneurs, across the nation, and internationally — to unite internal and external strengths, merging the power of the people, businesses, and the era to drive national development.
The “Three Pioneering Roles” highlighted by the Prime Minister:
1️⃣ Pioneering in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation — advancing into strategic and core technologies, fostering a nationwide innovation movement, and contributing to building a digital nation.
2️⃣ Pioneering in lawful and exemplary business practices, effectively contributing to building a socialist rule-of-law state.
3️⃣ Pioneering in implementing Resolution 68 of the Politburo, recognizing the private sector as one of the most important driving forces of the national economy and contributing to developing a socialist-oriented market economy under the Party’s leadership, the State’s management, and the people’s ownership.
“With these three pioneering roles,” the Prime Minister stressed, “we can together explore new development spaces — reaching far into the seas, delving deep into the earth, and soaring into space — so that our nation can develop rapidly and sustainably, advancing firmly toward socialism and a prosperous, civilized, and happy future.”
The Prime Minister also welcomed proposals and recommendations from business representatives, affirming that the Government will continue to review, absorb, and institutionalize them through reforms focusing on open institutions, seamless infrastructure, and smart governance.
“If the institutional framework is not open, it must be made open. Without smooth infrastructure, development is impossible. And governance must be smart — there is no other way,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
In response to this spirit, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) and representatives of the seafood business community — one of Vietnam’s key economic sectors — were honored to attend the meeting and express their determination to accompany the Government in building a strong, sustainable seafood industry.
As one of the nation’s spearhead industries, Vietnam’s seafood sector plays a pivotal role in exports, job creation, and the development of both the national and marine economies.
This direct dialogue with the Prime Minister serves as a powerful source of encouragement, reinforcing confidence and motivation for Vietnam’s seafood enterprises to boost production, enhance value-added, and develop sustainably, striving to elevate Vietnam’s seafood industry to stand alongside leading nations worldwide.
